Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, we absolutely do remodeling work! We are well-known in the area as one of the best custom home builders around, but much of our business is actually remodeling work.

Division 9 Inc has over 30+ years of combined experience. We know roofing, wood flooring, Commercial remodeling and homebuilding inside and out. We have seen it all!

Division 9 does renovations and remodeling on a year-round basis. If the bulk of the remodel involves interior spaces only, then any time of year will work. If the project requires foundation, masonry, or concrete work, then it’s best to do the project when the temperatures are above freezing and there is a smaller chance of strong rain, snow, or wind in the forecast. However, we often build during the winter months. Some homeowners prefer to schedule kitchen remodels during the summer or fall months, when it’s easier to cook outdoors on a BBQ.

There will likely be some brief interruption to utilities. We will always give you advance warning so you can plan accordingly.

It depends on the scope of work involved. In most cases, some type of permit will be required. The experienced professionals at Division 9 will be happy to help you navigate the permit process.

If you are planning a whole house remodel then you will probably need to find other living arrangements during the construction period. For other types of home remodeling projects, you should be able to remain in your house.

More often than not, our clients prefer to make these selections on their own, but Division 9  will be happy to offer guidance with paint selections and design choices if desired. If you wish, we can also one of our designers to help with your project.

YES!, we do have in-house designers and architects; we’re focused on being the best at what we do. That said, we hire the best possible professionals in the industry.

This depends on the size and scope of the project. Generally speaking, the dust and dirt will be the worst in the initial demolition phase. Once we’ve got things stripped down to the frame, things will be fairly clean. Drywall installation and sanding will create a lot of very fine dust for a few days. We do our very best to seal off the rest of the house, but a little dust will always get through. It’s a good idea to throw a plastic sheet over nearby sensitive items like electronics or fine furniture during this phase.

Each project is different, so time and price will vary greatly depending on the scope and size of the project. One of the reasons are customers are highly satisfied with Division 9 is that we give realistic, reasonable time and cost estimates and we stick to them.
